Exotic Shorthair Cat Garfield Plays with His Tinsel Stick

Mew, mew, it's me - Garfield! Ma bought Chester and me a new toy but I love it so much that I have a hard time letting Chester play with it! Oh yeah, the toy is a Go-Cat Long Sparkler!

I made 2 videos of me and this toy - here they are!

 

PS: You can see that I love to lick and chew it like I do all of my toys. Ma is sure to hide this when I'm done playing with it so that I don't eat it.

PPS: She doesn't let me lick and chew this anymore.

Exotic shorthair Chester here! You may or may not know this but I love to get face rubs - which is why I get them in a lot of my videos!

And lookit - I'm getting them now in my latest video, which is called "Exotic shorthair with short legs getting a face rub". Oh, and be sure to keep your volume down low. Ma didn't edit this video and the camera makes loud noises a couple of times when she adjusts the focus.

Chester here! I have an update about my condition. The good news is that I am no longer getting drops. The bad news is that the vet couldn't figure out what is wrong with me and now I have to go to a pet dermatologist on Tuesday. I might have allergies! Oh - did I mention that the only reason that I'm not getting the drops anymore is so I can get bacteria back in my ears for the dermatologist. Yucky!

It's hard being me but you wouldn't know because I am such a professional when it comes to my videos! I'd like to share 3 that I haven't posted here before!

Chester here! Sorry that it's been like since forever since my last entry but I've been sick. I have an infection in both ears and conjunctivitis. Ma has been giving me drops (and she just won't stop) - it's so annoying!

I'm Garfield, the flat-faced cat!

Hi there! In case you don't know me, I'm Garfield, mew, mew!

On June 25th, I will have been an adopted cat for a year - yay!!!

I already posted this video with me in it that shows my first few days as an adopted cat. In case you haven't seen it - here it is!  It's a little sad at first because I'm in a cat crate and I was dirty and thin. But you can see that I was a happy cat!

I have been through a lot of baths since that first year. I do not like them! I have to admit that they have made my fur very nice, though.

I have two new videos that I'd like to show to you!

The first is me being very silly!

PS I have not been using the litter box like I should and mom has been writing about this A LOT! Well, a man came to clean the air conditioner and he told mom that his cats were doing the same thing! But they only did it because he changed their litter on them, so he changed it back (they liked Fresh Step). It gave her an idea and she bought something called "Ever Clean Unscented Extra Strength Premium Clumping Cat Litter" (because it was smaller than the Fresh Step but looked to be made of the same stuff). Oh boy, this is a good litter! I pretty much use it all of the time - and when I don't it's because I'm using a litter box with the old litter in it!

Exotic Shorthair Cats Eating Turkey Treats!

Hi - it's Chester!

Wow, it's been a long time that I've posted but I've been very busy!

A couple of things to mention. First is that ma had to put the other two litter boxes back out so we are back to four. Garfield kept pooping in the powder room sink!

The other is that dad moved to Houston for work. I don't know yet if The Kid and me are going. In the meantime, ma has been recording video with dad in mind. Here, we are eating freeze-dried turkey treats that dad received in the mail as a gift for calling into a radio show and asking a question. I usually don't like turkey but this was really good!

Exotic Shorthair Garfield doesn't meow on command!

Chester here (you can see me in the back!) Ma and dad are testing out their new camera and meowing! I think it's because they are trying to get Garfield to speak. Will he ever meow? You'll have to watch to the end to find out!

Ok so I think I'm getting the hang of making gifs. I created another one - this time with Garfield. He does a belly flop on his crinkle tunnel!

This is my second attempt at making a cat gif - or an animation of still photos that I extracted from a video. It took hours and I'm not even sure how I achieved the final result, so I don't know how often I will be making these since so much effort went into this one. Perhaps practice will make it easier!

The Continuing Litter Box Saga

As you may remember from these entries, Garfield was pooping outside the box and I thought we solved this problem.

That was until 2 weeks ago when Garfield started leaving quarter-sized and even larger diarrhea (which I'll refer to as "D") outside and sometimes in the box. I at first thought it was from the hubby giving Garfield the leftovers of Chester's wet food to which we add Benefiber. Then I believed it could be a hair ball so I gave Garfield Petromalt only one time which seemed to make the D worse.

A week ago Monday or Tuesday, my hubby and Garfield paid a visit to the vet. The doctor suspected something was wrong with his GI tract (Giardia was later ruled out) so she gave him an antibiotic. Garfield responded immediately and loved the Greenies pill pocket, not to mention the medicine.

Well, last night, Garfield did a huge and stinky poop outside the box. Followed by a huge D puddle outside the box. Ditto on the D this morning, followed by a few quarter-sized Ds in the box. The hubby was going to call the vet's office when it opened for business but I was still worried. That was until...Garfield expelled the most disgusting gak puddle you ever did see with a thumb-sized hair ball!  We have never been so happy to have to clean up a mess. And I was sooo happy that I bought this Nature's Miracle for Cats.

Garfield wants to play with the furminator

This is the second fur ball that Garfield has upchucked so we will need to speak to the vet about prevention. We do have a furminator - I guess we need to use it more. Garfield doesn't like to be brushed but he doesn't mind getting furminated in the bathroom.
