Chester's sporting a shorter 'do

Like many cats during this time of year, Chester is shedding his winter coat. His winter coat is extra plushy and dense. There's so much fur that comes off after a good grooming that lately our garbage bin looks like a bag of cotton balls exploded in it.

Shortly after Chester arrived in NY, he started shedding his Spring coat. It was also about the time that he discovered the window sills. Even in a high rise building overlooking a highway, there's lots to keep a cat interested! These pictures are from July 16, 2011.

  1. Window sills are just the best!!! I have five cats, only two of them really like to be brushed but even so I know about a bin full of cat fur too - LOL!!!

    1. So true - I never met a cat who didn't like a window sill! (Well - maybe one - but my friend's cat prefers her closet!) He doesn't get to watch insects or birds but cars on the highway below still give him something to watch. Growing up, we mostly had short-haired cats so a trash can full of fur is very new for me! Glad you can appreciate what I mean :)

    1. I like to use the window sills for other things too - like taking a nap, a way to jump behind the couch. I don't like sunbathing, though. Chester

    1. At my old home, I used to watch the birds all day long. But these car thingies are fun to watch. And so many windows to choose from!

  4. Chester, those look like great window sills. They are big enough to stretch out and take a nap, and there's lots of boats to keep an eye on.

    1. Yes, I do all of those things! My mom says that in the house where she grew up, the cats had to sit on a radiator to look out into the back yard because the window sills weren't wide enough to hold a cat!

    1. Thank you, guys! But I have to tell you it's hard work monitoring my territory - it's gotten so much bigger than in my old home!
